Hot on the heels of our live debut "Night Of The Nice Folk", "Lesbian Seagulls On Crack" was again recorded at The Oxford Tavern on June 31st 2004.
We were opening for Richie & The Creeps & Chucky Monroes on this occasion. Lax Charisma was also playing with Richie & The Creeps and unwisely thought ingesting copious amounts of amphetamines & cocaine washed down with copious amounts of booze would enhance the performance. Lax Charisma was very wrong as you can hear on this recording.
This recording is the last stand of Dr.Rhythm666. We believe you can hear future drummer for The Nice Folk, Stu-Bob Slackjaw heckling from the audience. Sonically we've not had rhythms quite like this in The Nice Folk again. The rarely played Lax Charisma songs "9 O'Clock Station" and "Squalor & Mess" are included here. Actually this is the only recording to date of "Squalor & Mess". Our terrible butchering of the INXS standard "Devil Inside" is here. The plastic blue whistle that somebody handed Lax before we went on is here also. We've played better gigs. We've played worse gigs but here it is LESBIAN SEAGULLS ON CRACK. Enjoy!
